Dr. Martin Kalff

Martin Kalff is a member and teacher of the International and the Swiss Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST/SGSST).

Sandplay therapy is a depth psychology-based method of promoting self-awareness which provides the opportunity to express unconscious contents and emotions with the help of minitiatures in a sandbox (49 x 72 cm) and to bring them to life. Martin Kalff offers this form of self-discovery and personality development for children and adults alike. He is involved in advanced trainings (theory, self-awareness and supervision) for therapists from Europe, America, Africa and Asia, and his teaching activities repeatedly caused him to travel to these countries. For many years, he was involved in the "Psychotherapy Weeks" in Lindau, Switzerland.

As a sophomore, he studied theology and religious studies in Zurich, Switzerland, and in New York, followed by training courses in Sandplay Therapy and at the C.G. Jung Institute in Küsnacht, Switzerland.

In 1969, he began with in-depth studies of the theory and practice of Buddhism (Tibetan Buddhism in particular) and came to teach meditation. His main focus is on investigating the relationship between the psychology developed by Carl Gustav Jung and Buddhism.
